Individual demands
The
applicable measurements are virtually unrestricted. Parts of sculptures, moulded
to about seven metres high, are skillfully cut to pieces and then excavated,
numbered, fired, glazed, baked once more and reasssembled at the chosen
location. Every placement is unique and demands skill. Struktuur 68 closely
collaborates with expert construction and transport firms. Realising small
sculptures, painting dishes, small wares, turn and cast work are other
possibilities. A large assortment of different kinds of clay and more than 5000
glazes – each in many structural variations – are at the service of the
artist. The execution of several tests is standard procedure.
Knowledge, advice and mediation
The
six employees have thorough technical knowledge and experience at its disposal
and is always willing to search for new solutions, to advise and to be of
assistance. Struktuur 68 is more than a studio for ceramics. The firm entertains
contacts with architects and initiating institutions at the museum and gallery
level. It enables artists to engage in discussion and collaboration. Its
mediation between commissioners, architects and artists is primarily directed
towards the improvement of the quality of ceramic art.
