Struktuur
68 primarily creates an artistic climate in which designs are being realized
at ceramics. This may be done in total or
partial collaboration with the staff. Because of the expertise in the field of
ceramics and a working space of about 500 m2, Struktuur 68 can be regarded as a
temporary extension of the artist’s studio.
Because of the procedure of building glazed blocks or tiles the measurements
are virtually unlimited. Facades or floors can be completely furnished with
ceramics.
The firm is unique because of its experience with the concoction of brightly
coloured glazes. About 5000 colours can be accommodated to individual desires,
specific demands and climatological conditions.
In
the distant past there was already a symbiosis between the artist and the
ceramics studio. The possibilities for application of ceramics are virtually
unlimited. That is the reason why this material has always attracted visual
artists of the highest level: Paul Gauguin, Marc Chagall and Henri Matisse have
worked regularly with ceramics. A number of ceramic improvements would even have
been unthinkable without the input of Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró and Fernand
Léger.
